GRCI would like to thank ASIC for providing an opportunity for GRCI to comment upon Consultation Paper 189: Future of Financial Advice: Conflicted remuneration (CP 189).

Generally, GRCI supports the issuing of the Regulatory Guide and the proposed contents however have two questions or points of clarification that we seek.

GRCI today made a submission to the Assistant Treasurer - Bill Shorten suggesting that the current discussion on fee structures and Corp Act amendments provides a great opportunity to include methods for establishing an education fund similar to the fund the ASX had established when it had market supervisory responsibilities.
