Appeal Dismissed
The Queensland Court of Appeal has the dismissed an appeal by Kirrin Gore tried to appeal the November 2020 sentencing.

In an official statement from Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), “The Court of Appeal found it was open to the trial judge to convict on the six counts of fraud and that the evidence demonstrated Mr Gore had continued to secure funds from the investors after December 2013 without disclosing there was no real prospect of them being repaid.”
 




Regulatory Appeal
The Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) seeks appeal the Federal Court that dismissed allegations against the Cigno and BHF Solutions that they breached national Consumer Credit Protection Act. 




Gold Coast adviser banned
 
The regulator banned Adam Bevan who was the authorised representative of Trade Wind Financial Services from 2017 to 2020 from providing financial advice for five years. 

In an official statement the Australian Securities and Investments commission (ASIC), “ASIC found that Mr Bevan failed to act in the best interests of three Trade Wind FS clients when he failed to make reasonable enquiries about their existing superannuation funds and when he did not put in place measures to ensure their funds were transferred in accordance with his advice.”

 

Guilty opf Fraud

Dr Roger Munro has pleaded guilty to three counts of fraud for using investor fund for his own purposes. 

His sentencing will be carried on 30 July.
