About the Role
This newly created position within the Core Operations function has responsibility for risk and compliance activities and assisting with operational delivery.
The Risk & Operations team looks after several key functions across the practice, including risk and compliance in Australia nationally. Working within the Risk & Operations team, the role will contribute to the delivery of a robust and efficient platform to support the continued growth of the Australian practice and enhance operational effectiveness.

 
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Managing Director – Risk & Operations, the role will have a key focus to drive quality, proactive risk management and compliance across the national team, including but not limited to the following:
Support and drive key risk and compliance activities across the practice, including the    
   maintenance and oversight of various compliance registers
Provide guidance and deal with queries in relation to corporate and risk & compliance matters
Oversee compliance management in relation to AFSL activities
Draft and maintain relevant corporate policies and procedures for the Australian practice in 
   accordance with applicable laws and regulations
Monitor and coordinate the review of corporate policies with other corporate functions
Report and present in various forums in relation to risk & compliance matters includin 
   coordination of training calendar for key topics and delivery of various training
Work closely with the business to run and resolve risk and compliance matters as they arise
Coordinate information / knowledge  management activities and projects across the practice
Assist with key operational / leadership reporting, meetings and forums
Lead or contribute to ad hoc projects to drive process improvements and enhance efficiencies.
 
How You’ll Grow
Working within a small team, this role will provide the ability to operate across a range of activities within a national setting, with exposure to staff at all levels, within an established, proactive and collaborative Risk & Operations function.
 
 
Experience & Qualifications
■ Between 4 and 8 years of risk and compliance experience
■ Strong knowledge of AFSL compliance environment and requirements
■ Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business or Law and/or risk and compliance certifications
   preferred but not essential
■ Excellent knowledge and awareness of risk and compliance best practices and frameworks
■ Knowledge and experience within a professional services environment
■ Ability to drive and manage projects in an organisation
■ Highly developed communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels
■ Strong work ethic and integrity and high level of professionalism
■ High attention to detail and accuracy
■ This role may require business travel and attendance to FTI offices
