Assurance Position, Aust Office of Fin Mgt

The Australian Office of Financial Management (AOFM) is a small specialised agency that plays a significant role in the Australian financial markets. AOFM manages a portfolio of Australian Government Securities of more than $800 billion and two investment funds. AOFM ensures that the government’s expenditure obligations and budget financing needs are met, while balancing the associated risks and costs. The AOFM operates within financial markets in order to effectively achieve AOFM’s financing and portfolio management responsibilities.

AOFM is looking to engage an Assurance Analyst. The successful candidate will work within a risk-based assurance framework involving both routine and project tasks. Routine tasks include testing internal compliance with policy, legal and regulatory requirements, Audit Committee secretariat duties, and staff training. Project work will vary but may involve assurance program design and implementation factors. For example, consideration of the use of data analytics to support the assurance program.

Qualifications:             Degree qualification in auditing, finance, commerce, or a related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.

Experience:                   Experience in assurance or audit work is expected. Exposure to Australian capital markets or investment strategies of relevance to sovereign debt management would be well regarded.

This position is based in Canberra.  We will pay relocation costs for successful candidates.
